Friday Favs: Underrated Athletic Wear Brands

In a world of Lululemon and Athleta, it can sometimes feel like you’re drowning in high-end athleisure wear. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of high-quality leggings, but when you’re a college student on a budget, you have to be choosy with which brands will give you the biggest bang for your buck. So, when money is tight, here are three of my favorite legging brands that have options that won’t break the bank:

Popflex Active
*Pricing: $39-$60
*Perfect for: low-impact workouts like yoga, pilates and barre
Designed by Cassey Ho of Blogilates, Popflex Active clothing line has yet to fail me [I own three pairs]! These stylish leggings are designed specifically for low-impact workouts [like pilates and barre] to ensure you look #cute while getting in a ~graceful~ sweat. [Plus, how can you turn down pockets?!]

Fabletics
*Pricing: $30-$70 [without membership]
*Perfect for: all workouts, including high-impact like lifting and HIIT
Kate Hudson’s athleisure wear line has quickly taken off within the fitness industry and more and more influencers and trainers are sporting the stylish brand. I definitely recommend joining the VIP Membership to get your first two pairs of leggings for just $24 [!!!]. But, if you’re not ready to fully commit to the membership yet, Fabletics has plenty of budget-friendly options available for a one-time purchase!

GapFit
*Pricing: $28-$90
*Perfect for: cardio workouts like cycling and stairs
As a former Gap sales associate I may be a bit biased here, but I am not lying when I say I STILL rave about the GapFit leggings I bought over a year ago! These silky smooth leggings feel like a second skin [most with pockets!!] and allows you to glide through your sweaty cardio sessions with ease.
