Friday favs: Ways to soak in the sun

As an Ohioan, I am extremely looking forward to the more consistent warm weather as June nears its end! Gone are the days of gray skies and rainy days, thus lifting spirits and optimism as a result. But, as an Ohioan, I also know that these nice days can just as quickly be interrupted by a sudden weather change, so it’s important to soak in every last drop of sun while I have the chance. Here are my three favorite ways to get outside in the summer:

Reading Outside
Sure, fall is the perfect time to curl up under a fuzzy blanket with a good read but nothing compares to sprawling out on a beach blanket at a park with a good book in hand. My favorite places to do so are somewhere with enough grassy areas that I can lay around comfortably, but close enough to hear water lapping against the shore.

Paddle Boarding
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m nowhere near the most athletic person, water sports included. But, paddle boarding is one thing I thoroughly enjoy regardless of whether or not I’m “talented” at it! Not only is this leisurely activity a great way to get outdoors and spend some time with friends, but it’s also a GREAT alternative workout to your typical gym sesh!

Similarly, boating is one of my favorite ways to enjoy nature whilst surrounded by a body of water. Again, I’m no boating expert but I don’t think it takes much talent to lounge on a boat with some good music and great friends 😉
