I’ve never been one for horror movies, which can make it hard to find anything to watch on TV around Halloween. But, I do have very vivid memories from my childhood curled up on the couch, munching on too many sweets and watching Halloween movies that were just the right amount of spooky without crossing the threshold into scary. Here are three of my favorites:
Nothing screams “Halloween” quite like the Halloweentown series, and Halloweentown High is undoubtedly my favorite. I mean, what could be better than a plot that blends high school drama with fantasy creatures?!
Have you ever wondered what you would do if you found out you were separated from your twin at birth? What if you and said twin also had magical powers? Disney’s Twitches introduces the “real world” to a magical kingdom in desperate need of being saved by two teenagers with just the right amount of comedic relief.
Okay, so I actually didn’t see this movie until I spent a summer babysitting two kids who watched it every single day, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t actually enjoy the film. Yes, it’s animated and yes, it’s aimed at kids but trust me when I say the humor is enough to even get adults laughing.
