Favorite DIY Holiday Gifts

The start of November means the start of the holidays [and I will not be arguing on this ;-)]. My favorite part of the holiday season is giving gifts to my friends and family, and it’s always fun to put a personal touch on each gift! Here are my three favorite DIY gifts that are reasonably priced and easy to personalize:

Everyone can use a set of coasters around their homes, and what better way to add a bit of personality to your living space than by personalizing them! Plus, these DIY coasters are super easy to make. All you’ll need is a set of tiles [easily purchased at your local Lowe’s or Home Depot], modge podge and a print out of your favorite quote, image or design.

Start by spreading an even layer of modge podge on top of the tile, place the print where you’d like it and seal with another layer of modge podge. Voila! You’ve got yourself a cute little coaster that perfectly fits your personality.

Photo Collages

Photo collages are easily the most commonly gifted DIY project, but for good reason! What better way to show someone you care about them than to combine all of your best memories into one frame that can be proudly displayed on any wall. I prefer to use Shutterfly easily edited templates for my prints!

This one may take a bit of trial and error to fully get the hang of, but luckily The Candle Lab has store locations all around Cincinnati, Columbus and Pittsburgh to provide step-by-step instructions on how to pour your own candle. Candles are always a great option when giving a gift, and they’re sure to add a bit of warmth to any room. But, add your own personal flare by choosing your own scents to mix to create a candle that is truly one of a kind!
